Petit Somme’s Today screen for Léa, 5 months: next nap starting between 12:10 and 12:30, in about 30 min, with a “Why 12:10?” button. Below, her day as a column, from waking at 7:00 to bedtime between 7:00 and 7:30 pm. Screen in French.

Re-plans after every nap

2:10 pm. The nap lasted 30 minutes.

The coffee’s gone cold. And the whole day needs working out again in your head.

Sophie, illustrated example: the nap lasted 30 minutes

So what do I do with the afternoon now?

Example situations, illustrated.

How it works

  1. Log wake-ups and naps with one thumb.

  2. Petit Somme plans the next nap and bedtime.

  3. A short nap? The rest of the day adjusts.

A 30-minute nap?The day re-plans.

The nap ends too early. You tap “Fin de sieste” (End nap). The rest of the day moves on its own. Bedtime holds.

11:40 am: next nap around 12:10
Today screen at 12:40, after a 30-minute nap: the nap is logged, the next one moves to between 2:55 and 3:15 pm, bedtime stays between 7:00 and 7:30 pm. Screen in French.
12:40 pm: a 30-minute nap. The next one moves to 2:55.
The “Why 12:10?” sheet: woke at 9:55, 2 h 15 to 2 h 35 awake, then the nap from 12:10 to 12:30, with one sentence on how it was worked out, a not-medical-advice note and a Sources link. Screen in French.

A clear answer, not ten opinions.

Everyone tells you something different. Here, every time has its reason, in one line.

Camille, illustrated example: everyone tells her something different

My mom, the daycare, the internet: everyone tells me something different.

Daycare day, 8:30 am to 6 pm: naps 9:30 to 10:20, 12:45 to 2:05 pm and 4:00 to 4:30 pm, marked daycare. At 6:20 pm, awake for 1 h 50; bedtime planned between 7:00 and 7:30 pm. Screen in French.
Léa’s sheet for the nanny, ready to send: usual naps around 9:00, 12:00 and 15:45, usual length 40 min to 1 hr, bedtime at home between 19:00 and 19:30. Sheet in English.

Daycare and the nanny keep up too.

No more repeating the schedule. Log the daycare naps when you get home. For the nanny, a sheet to send.

Julie, illustrated example: 6 pm, picking Léo up from daycare

6 pm, I’m picking Léo up from daycare. When did he sleep again?

The night screen, dark and soft: awake for 12 min, a big “Asleep again” button and three buttons to log. Screen in French.

3 am?One thumb, and it’s logged.

A soft, dark screen with nothing to read. In the morning, one line sums up the night.

Karim, illustrated example: 3 am, logging the waking in the dark

3 am. I want to log the waking without turning on the light.

The Petit Somme Home Screen widget: nap starting 12:10, to 12:30. Awake for 1 h 25. In French.

The next nap, without opening the app.

One glance at your Home Screen and you know.

Made with care, no magic promises.

Where the guidance comes from

Guidance from public sources, all listed in the app (for example Réseau Morphée and mpedia, on sante.fr). Not medical advice.

Your notes stay with you

No account to create. Everything stays on your iPhone. The app sends us nothing: nobody else sees your notes, not even us.

Who makes Petit Somme

Petit Somme is made by a small independent publisher. A question? support@petitsomme.com

Your questions

How much does it cost?

Logging naps, nights and feeds is free, and so is the guide for their age. The subscription adds the daily nap plan: the next nap time that recalculates, the “Why?”, nursery days, the nanny sheet and the time in the widget. €34.99 a year with 7 days free, or €6.99 a month with no trial. We remind you before the trial ends. The subscription renews automatically. Cancel any time in your iPhone’s Settings, at least 24 hours before it ends. Deleting the app doesn’t stop the subscription.

What ages is it for?

From birth to 2 years. Before 8 weeks, simple guides; after that, a plan for the day.

How does the app know when the next nap is?

It starts from the usual awake time for their age. Then it adjusts it with their awake times over the last few days. It’s an estimate, not a measurement. The plan is part of the subscription.

Where do my notes go?

On your iPhone, and nowhere else. The app sends us nothing.

Does it replace the pediatrician?

No. If in doubt, ask a health professional.

What about the nanny or daycare?

On daycare days, log the naps when you get home, and bedtime updates. For the nanny, the app makes a sheet to send. With the subscription.

Is it on Android?

Not for now: iPhone only.
